The initiative “European Capital of Culture” seems to rely on a categorical distinction between nature and culture that is historically worn out. We need another name, we need another attitude, we are looking for new friends. Therefore we declare: Pilsen is the first NatureCulturalCapital of Europe. Please join us in a trilogy with experts, actors, and designers from different species!

WHY TALK TO ANIMALS – A trilogy for the First NatureCultural Capital of Europe in Pilsen 2015

Part1
The conference “Portraying Animals” was held at the National Gallery in Prague in May 2015. It focused on the artistic depiction of animals. Speakwers: Giovanni Aloi, Steve Baker, Jana Horaková, Cord Riechelmann, Marco Stella and Olesya Turkina.

Part2
The Shooting: The public is invited to observe the shooting of a photo series of exceptional double portraits: the models are human-animal couples who have come together for a variety of reasons and are engaged in dialogue with one another.

Part3
The product: A wall paper with the photos of human-animal couples, the product is exhibited at the Goethe Institut Prague and can also be purchased there.
